LOCKDOWN : What now for South African retailers?

LOCKDOWN : What now for South African retailers?

The South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa, has enforced a national state of lockdown which was implemented from midnight on Thursday, 26 March 2020.

According to the President’s speech, “all shops and businesses will be closed,
except for pharmacies, laboratories, banks, essential financial and payment services, including the JSE, supermarkets, petrol stations and health care providers.”

In light of the above, and to ensure that we reach our goals of stopping the spread of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and launching product ranges on schedule, we will continue taking orders for non-essential products but we will only fulfill (ship) these orders once it is legal to do so.

However, Zalemart is a registered essential services provider and plans to sell and fulfill legal and essential goods such as groceries, pet food, hygiene products, digital downloads and medical supplies in the near future.

Stay home, stay safe and stay tuned!
