Employment Type : 3 month trial progressing to fixed-term contract

Location : Zalemart, Durban Central

Seniority Level : Entry Level

Required Experience, Skills, Values & Qualifications :

  • Successfully completed NQF Level 4/Matric/Grade 12 or Equivalent.
  • Fluent in speaking, writing and understanding English
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the ICT industry
  • Minimum 1 year experience in e-commerce (preferably Shopify)
  • Excellent knowledge of consumer electronics
  • Experience at an online marketplace advantageous
  • Experience in dropshipping advantageous
  • General knowledge of copywriting, keyword research and SEO best practices
  • Computer literacy and PC skills
    • Ability to effectively navigate and use a Windows based device
    • Word processors : Proper formatting, typing up of documents
    • Spreadsheets : formulae, v-lookup, filtering, sums etc
    • Presentation programs : Putting together basic, neat presentations
    • Emails : Sending/receiving emails, out of office settings, scheduling
      meetings, attachments
    • Video conferences : : Sending/receiving messages, joining conference calls
    • CRM : Data capture, maintenance and reporting
  • General retail skills and product knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of GSuite, including but not limited to Google Sheets and Google Docs 
  • Flexibility to work rotational shifts
  • Ability to work from home if necessary : High speed internet, laptop and smartphone.
  • Own transport and driver's license
  • Dynamic, smart, creative and hard-working individual with integrity

Roles (Including but not limited to) :
  • Manage the Electronics category on the online store :
    • Run daily store operations
      • Basic graphic and web design tasks
      • Assist with procurement by identifying good products in the category to sell online
      • Add products manually as well as import products using CSV files
      • Create and arrange product collections
      • Manage menu navigation
      • Manage online inventory
      • Manage shipping/logistics
      • Content creation : Pages, Blogs, Social Media etc
      • Copywriting - Write product descriptions
      • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
      • Search Engine Marketing
      • Social Media Marketing
      • Conversion Rate Optimisations (CRO)
      • Customer service and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
      • Dealing with and resolving customer complaints and returns
      • Online marketplace management - Inventory uploads, daily updates, supplier relationships
      • Use Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Search Console for site and process optimisation
  • In-store customer service
  • Place of delivery customer service - travel expenses covered
  • Build supplier relationships and visit suppliers to gain hands on product knowledge
  • Manage accounts of creditors

Working Hours (Subject to change) :

  • Monday - Friday : 7:15 - 11:30; 12:30 - 17:15

Pay and Benefits :

  • Competitive, market-related basic salary based on skills and experience
    • Salary + sales commission after 3 month trial
